Services
We make adjustments and/or upgrades either on the customer’s requirements or based on our experience
The adjustment of the client’s loudspeakers is a road I’ve walked and recommended many times, and that often leads to outstanding results, with the remarkable benefit of financial savings.
Service of conception and development of loudspeakers from scratch, based either on the customer’s generic guidance or on their specific requirements.
We can conceive and design the cabinet via CAD and eventually have it made by skilled craftsmen. We can also devise and make a custom cross-over filter.
Service of designing and implementation based on specifications and/or necessities of various elements for acoustic treatment
There are many possibilities, and the specific case needs to be evaluated, otherwise it would be misleading to talk only about some aspects and not others. For those who are interested, it will be a matter of taking a look at the framework of the room and the speakers and, based on these, making a customized treatment.

Example of upgrade on commercial speaker “Lonpoo LP42”
The Lonpoo LP42 is a classic two-way mini-speaker with a 10 cm carbon-fiber mid-woofer (which is not bad for an economic product) and a 25 mm silk tweeter. According to me, it was necessary to make the cabinet walls, made of mdf (another good aspect) but with a too slight thickness, deafer to listening.
I did this by applying to the inner walls a very effective specific material that makes the walls more muted by increasing the weight of the speaker by 50%, from 1.7 kg to 2.5 kg each.
Afterwards, I measured the speaker noting an intensified response at various points, the worst by about 10 db (a huge and unacceptable value even in a cheap speaker) around 7 Khz.
The response so intensified depends on the fact that the cross-over è veramente minimal (a resistor and a single condenser in series with the tweeter) and no elements on the mid-woofer, which presents a break-up exactly on 7 Khz. Therefore, it was necessary to intervene by completely redesigning the cross-over filter, trying to make it, as always, as simple as possible.
This modus operandi of mine is always important and even more so when intervening on an inexpensive loudspeaker, for obvious reasons of cost and simplicity of realization.

5dB/div Frequency Response – Lompoo LP42
In the chart, I have reported the original response of the speaker (in red) – (measured on a pedestal away from the walls and with resolution at 5 db/each vertical division to better notice the differences in the curves), overlaid with the response of the modified speaker (in black).
The considerable lack of low frequencies depends on the remoteness of all the walls of the room, while the improvements in frequency response are obvious.
10 dB/div Frequency Response – Lompoo LP42
Subsequently, in the second chart, I report the response of the modified speaker and the unmodified speaker placed on the same pedestal, but next to the back of the room, and with a vertical scale of 10 db (a situation certainly similar to the position in which the speaker will operate during its use).
Note the increased level of low frequencies and a rather balanced response across all frequencies.

This modified speaker gives, upon listening, positive feelings. The bass, now, is quite restrained and sufficiently extended (considering the tiny size), the midrange frequencies are clean and correct and the highs not very extended but quite transparent.
In conclusion, we can say that, after the revision, the value for money of the speaker went from very good to incredible even considering the price increase due to the adjustment (increase of about 50 euros), which brings the total to about 130 euros. I believe that it is very hard to find a commercial speaker that is better than the modified Lompoo LP42 at the the same price.
I report that this solution is also very interesting in using it as a TV audio, combining the speaker with a class D or T digital amplifier. Indeed, with a total amount of about 200 euros, you get a huge improvement in audio (at least of low or mid-priced TVs).
